NYPD’s New Bell 429 Fights Crime with Churchill Navigation ARS
Fighting crime in New York City presents unique challenges for Law Enforcement. To effectively help deter crime and catch the criminals, NYPD has launched a new Bell 429 equipped with the latest technology available. The core of their Mission Management and Surveillance technology is the Churchill Navigation Augmented Reality System (ARS) which is designed to interface with their primary camera, hoist camera, radio and CAD system. ARS includes a built-in multi-channel HD video recorder so all of the video action is captured for evidentiary purposes.
ARS instantly and accurately labels every street, building, address, school, park, business and more, that the flight crew can see through their cameras making it easy to coordinate ground assets during a vehicle pursuit or locating a suspect fleeing the scene.
