Senior Embedded Systems Engineer – Camera Systems

Churchill Navigation is developing the next generation of airborne mission equipment — our augmented reality products are used throughout the world in helicopters, airplanes, and UAVs for assisting first responders, monitoring wildlife and the environment, enhancing broadcast television, and much more. As an engineer, you’ll fly with customers as well in N208CN, our Cessna Grand Caravan, to validate the real-world performance of your projects.

Our electrical engineering team is focusing on high-end airborne video acquisition and processing systems. We are looking for a talented and motivated senior developer with at least 7 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering to help us build the next generation of mission equipment and high-end stabilized imaging systems. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience interfacing camera sensors using MIPI CSI-2 to H.265 hardware-accelerated video compression solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality, innovative and cost appropriate engineering and product concepts
  • Help bring an idea from concept to a product
  • Design, implement and debug software, firmware, digital and analog circuitry
  • Integrate between software, firmware and hardware components

 

Required skills and experience

  • Excellent analog, digital, and high-speed circuit design, debug and analysis skills
  • FPGA design (preferably with Xilinx tools), Verilog & VHDL coding and simulation
  • Experience designing PCBAs, preferably with Altium CAD
  • Experience interfacing with hardware-accelerated IP for Video compression on designated platforms such as NVIDIA’s Jetson Nano
  • Skilled in embedded firmware development and debugging, particularly for ARM Cortex-M series of Microcontrollers
  • Strong background of programming in C/C++ and object-oriented design
  • SMD soldering skills and hands-on experience with lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies)

 

Compensation:

Annual salary for this position is $110k – $140k depending on experience. In addition, we offer a robust package of benefits that include health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
