Cessna 208B Caravan Pilot

We’ve got an airplane!  You know how to fly! Let’s have some fun…

Churchill Navigation develops high-end airborne augmented reality mapping systems for customers around the world and has recently been working on building stabilized camera systems as well. Our products are used in helicopters, airplanes, and UAVs for assisting first responders, monitoring wildlife and the environment, enhancing broadcast television, and much more. We routinely fly test missions on our own behalf as well as with our partners and customers in our uniquely configured Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX.

You will act as the PIC and Chief Pilot for our part 91 and flight test operations based out of the Boulder Municipal Airport (BDU) in Boulder, Colorado. Your job is to not kill us: Get us up in the air, fly the mission, and get us back safely. Our flight test ops are typically conducted Monday – Friday in day VFR conditions but do involve occasional overnight demonstration and test flights. This position could be part-time as long as you are available to fly when we need you. We currently fly 1-2 missions a week, but this can change depending on what we are doing (we took it to the Paris Air Show and Oshkosh). Bottom line though, it’s not an hours-building position — this might be ideal for someone who loves flying, but is tired of working for the majors.

While we don’t need a full-time pilot, we are open to making this a full-time, hybrid position where you would fly as needed and help out in another area in the company when not flying. Other skills we could use include A&P, avionics tech, programming, project management, administrative support, etc. If you are interested in full-time, let us know what else you can do.

Applicants should have at least 1,000 hours of total flight time. Turbine experience and time in type is strongly preferred.

Other preferred qualifications include:

  • Current CFI/CFII or ATP
  • A&P mechanic or avionics tech experience
  • Previous experience in type (C208, C208B)
  • Airborne law enforcement experience a plus
  • Experience operating FAA Experimental-certified aircraft and/or with FAA certification requirements/process
  • Team-players sought; This isn’t a time-building opportunity but a position where we want you to be able to contribute to other aspects of our organization and business – not just flying!

Applicants are subject to pre-employment drug screening, pilot record checks, criminal history records checks, and driver’s records checks.

Work authorization:

To conform to U.S. Government aerospace technology export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
